One person has been declared dead on Sunday, June 11, 2018 in a multi-vehicle wreck in Southwest Riverside County, officials report. The crash happened on the outskirts of Murrieta, near French Valley airport, around 5:36 p.m.
Witnesses saw multiple vehicles that were involved in the wreck along Winchester Road/SR-79 at Benton Road. One of the cars caught fire following the crash.
“The first arriving engine company reported a three vehicle traffic collision with fire,” the Riverside County Fire Department reported. “There was a total of four patients. One patient succumbed to their injuries on scene.”
Two other people were hospitalized with moderate injuries, while the fourth person was treated at the scene, according to the fire department.
